Psychology at Florida Tech is a medium-sized major, averaging 75 undergraduates and about 100 graduate students. It is one of the most respected and valued programs in the University, and students at both levels evaluate their programs more highly, on average, than do those in any other department on campus. Psychology majors bring something unique to the University community because of their people-orientation, open-mindedness, broad knowledge, and interest in extracurricular activities. Not surprisingly, they often figure prominently in campus organizations and governance.

Rappelling Tower About 5-10% of Psychology majors at Florida Tech are in the Army ROTC (Reserve Officers Training Corps) program. ROTC pays their tuition through college, and they must become active duty officers upon graduation. The Psychology curriculum is designed to accommodate the ROTC courses, or other special interests such as extensive concentrations in Marine Biology or Business. ROTC students have several opportunities to rappel from this tower, located across from the Psychology building. The Psychology faculty have not been allowed to jump off the tower, to some students' disappointment. Nature of Psychology Index
