Arts and Communication
Field Trips
Fieldtrips are events sponsored by the School of Arts and Communication in an effort to provide a multidimensional look at the Performing Arts, Communication industry, and fields in the humanities. They aim to provide an insider's look at career options for graduates in the field Humanities and Communication. Students will have a better understanding of the performing arts, the lifestyle of attending law schools, the PR profession, media relations, non-profit organizations, stage management, and event planning following their participation in the fieldtrip.
For more information about field trips, contact Ms. Anushka Boyd at boyd2008@fit.edu.

Beauty and the Beast at Bob Carr Performing Arts Center
Arts and Communication students at Florida Tech had the rare opportunity on to witness a behind-the-scenes glimpse into the Broadway musical Beauty and the Beast at the Bob Carr Performing Arts Center during the first school-sponsored fieldtrip.
Students had a private, guided tour of the theatre and watch the "load-in" day of the production--a technical term for the transformation of the stage as the scenery is assembled and props arranged for the show. The load-in typically occurs the morning before a performance and generally serves as the dress reversal for traveling production.
