Rana Moukarzel
2011 I/O Student of the Year

Rana completed her B.A. in General Psychology at the American University of Beirut, Lebanon and earned her Master’s in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from FIT. She is now pursuing her PhD in I/O Psychology at FIT. Her research interests include feedback and performance management, organizational politics, organizational citizenship behavior, training development and evaluation, trust, and cross-cultural/intercultural competence. Rana has taken an active role as in the Center of Organizational Effectiveness at FIT, the Feedback Team as well as the Institute of Cross-Cultural Management at FIT in which she also serves as a member of the steering committee. Recently, Rana was honored to be invited to speak at the Psychology Colloquium of the American University of Beirut during her visit to Lebanon in December. Her talk featured a quick overview of what I/O is as well as an overview of her thesis results; "When Employees use Feedback as a Political Strategy." Other than being a passionate I/O psychologist, Rana is proud to be Lebanese which makes her special since she can manage to make up a sentence that includes English, Arabic and French words at the same time!
