Music Program

Audition Information

Auditions for ALL ENSEMBLES and for this year’s choral scholarships will take place on Saturday, 15 August from 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM in Gleason auditorium. Rooms 210, 220, 401, and 402 of Crawford will be available for students to warm up and practice before their auditions. These try-outs are mainly for diagnostic purposes so we can place students within the ensembles and provide them with appropriate sheet music. Exceptions are those for Jazz Band and the choral scholarships, which are selective.

Percussionists should be prepared to take the 8:00 hour times and to arrive in Gleason earlier to warm up. Vocalists should expect to audition during the 10:30-11:30 hour.

Vocalists who will require an accompanist may either bring their own or request one from us. In order to procure an accompanist from the department, you should send your audition music to Kristy Kiser via post or PDF or in person at least two weeks prior to your audition.

Those students who wish to audition for the Jazz ensemble should take slots between 8:30 and 10:30. They need not audition twice as we can build their Jazz audition into their other ensemble auditions. Exceptions may be those students who will not be playing the same instruments in both ensembles.
