Hello, my name is Judith Husband. I'm a graduate student in the Applied Behavior Analysis program. I received my B.A. degree in Psychology at Florida Tech as well, specializing in ABA.
This blog is meant to introduce you to life as a graduate student at FIT. I'll post information, events, experiences, and my thoughts on this page over the next year.

The Applied Behavior Analysis program sponsored a national conference on autism today. Just about all of the ABA grad students attended the conference.

LIFE AS A GRAD STUDENT AT FLORIDA TECH
Hello all,
My name is Judith Husband, and I am a first year grad student here at Florida Tech. The weather here is BEAUTIFUL and campus is about 7 miles from the beach!! I enjoy going to the beach on the weekends and preparing for my upcoming classes by doing my reading assignments. As you will soon learn, grad students do quite a bit of reading. Classes here are only once a week for 2 hours and forty-five minutes which is great because you have a whole week to prepare before the next class. The staff here at Florida Tech are the best!! They are always willing to lend a helping hand if you have any questions or need anything. Also, if you are interested in doing research with one of the professors, there are scholarships available. Class sizes are very small, and the professors WILL know who you are. The food on campus is great as well!! The “SUB” (Student Union Building) offers subs, soups, chips, salads, daily lunch specials, hamburgers, french-fries and much more. There is also a buffet on campus called Evans which offers a salad bar, soups, grilled chicken and hamburgers, and many other dishes to choose from. Evans also offers a huge desert bar and ice cream. At Clemente (the gym) you can go to “Center Court” and get smoothies, wraps and more. There are free gym classes to all students at the gym including yoga, kick-boxing, and step classes just to name a few. So don’t forget…The weather is good, the people are good, the class sizes are small, the food is good, and gym classes are FREE…. WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR??? Oh, and you’re getting the BEST education that money can buy!!
If you have any other questions regarding anything at all, feel free to contact me at jhusband@fit.edu. Title the email GRAD PROSPECT and I will get back with you as soon as possible. I will be interviewing people from different programs for the upcoming blogs. Thanks so much for reading. I hope I can be helpful in making your decision to become a Florida Tech Panther! I am here for YOU.
