Scholarships

Applications for two new Graduate Fellowships can be submitted as part of the application for applying for the PsyD program. These fellowships are made available through endowments to the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts and matched by the F.W. Olin Foundation.  The fellowship is tax-exempt because it is applied directly to tuition.

Juanita Neal-Baker Graduate Fellowship

The Juanita Neal-Baker Graduate Fellowship was established in Spring 2002 by Dr. Baker, a faculty member in the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts since 1984. The fellowship will be awarded to a psychology graduate student who is interested in pursuing research and training in the area of reducing violence towards women and/or children. Any Florida Tech psychology graduate student applicant can apply for the fellowship. The individual selected for the fellowship will be expected to begin research on reducing violence towards women and/or children and present a report on their progress in May 2004. Applicants should submit a letter detailing any past activities/training related to reducing violence towards women/children and their research interests and plans as a fellow (limit of 1000 words).

Carol Philpot Family Psychology Fellowship

The Carol Philpot Family Psychology Fellowship was also established in Spring 2002 in honor of the many contributions to the College of Psychology and Liberal Arts and the field of family psychology made by former dean Carol Philpot. The fellowship will be awarded to a student enrolled in the clinical PsyD program with interests in the area of family psychology. The individual selected for the fellowship will be expected to begin research in the area of family psychology and present a report on his/her progress in May 2004. Applicants should submit a letter detailing any past activities/training related to family psychology and their research interests and plans as a fellow (limit of 1000 words).A panel of faculty members will select the fellows based on the quality of the application and the compatibility of the applicant's background, interests, and goals with the fellowship's mission.
