Clinical Psychology Program
Cost and Financial Aid
Tuition for the class entering academic year 2011 - 2012 is $14,170 per semester for Fall 2011 and Spring 2012. In addition, students are expected to have access to psychological testing equipment, which often necessitates the purchase of several tests at our discounted rate of 40% off. The total cost of these tests runs between $1,000-$1,400.

* Tuition costs are billed at a flat rate up to 13 credit hours. Students wishing to exceed 13 credit hours will be billed per credit hour for each additional hour.
The following financial aid is available to students in the Psy.D. program:
Federal Stafford Student Loan Program
Stafford Loans are available to graduate students who apply for federal assistance and who maintain at least half-time (five credit hours) enrollment in graduate-level courses. Stafford loans are either subsidized or unsubsidized. A subsidized loan is awarded on the basis of financial need. The federal government pays the interest on a subsidized Stafford Loan until repayment begins and during authorized deferment periods. A Student may borrow up to $18,500 each year in Stafford Loans. At least $10,000 of this amount must be in an unsubsidized Stafford Loan. Cumulatively, a graduate student may borrow up to $138,500 in Stafford Loans with no more than $65,000 in unsubsidized Stafford Loans. The graduate debt limits include any Stafford Loans received for undergraduate study. Additional information about obtaining financial aid may be accessed by contacting the Office of Financial Aid. Graduate Student Assistantships (GSA)
GSAs involve a stipend and/or a tuition-waiver and are awarded to well-qualified Psy.D. students. Typically these awards are offered to students who have completed their first year of the program and include a range of functions from teaching, research, and administrative duties. For the current year (FA 10 - 11), 29 PsyD students (56% of those available) received GSA awards, totaling over $110,000, with an average annual stipend of $2900.
University Graduate Scholarships (UGS)
UGSs are awarded to incoming Psy.D. students and are offered at the time of admission. Specific duties are determined by the faculty supervisors and typically involve research and administrative responsibilities. For FA 10 - 11, seven entering students received UGS awards, totaling over $65,520, with an average annual stipend of $9360.
Fellowships
The following fellowships are awarded to incoming Psy.D. students:
- Juanita Neal-Baker Graduate Fellowship – Awarded to graduate students who are interested in the area of reducing violence toward women and children. The selected fellows will be expected to begin research specific to this area in their entering year. For FA10-11, two fellowships were awarded in the amount of $2900 each.
- The Carol Philpot Family Psychology Fellowship – Awarded to a graduate student interested in pursuing research and training in the area of family psychology. The fellow is expected to begin research specific to this area in his/her entering year. For FA10-11, two fellowships were awarded in the amount of $1575 each.
- Elizabeth B.Wolf Outstanding Student of the Year Award - Awarded in honor of Dr.Elizabeth B. Wolf, Professor and funding Director
of Clinical Training of Florida Tech’s Clinical Psychology program. This award is given each year to a clinical psychology
student chosen by the clinical faculty who demonstrates excellence both academically and clinically. This fellowship provides the
award recipient with $1000 per year toward the payment of internship tuition.
State Funded Programs and Paid Practicum Sites
In addition to the above funding sources, many students will be paid to work within the programs two State Funded Service Programs: the Family Learning Program, and the East Central Florida Memory Disorder Clinic, and also within numerous advanced paid practicum placements.
