Biography
Dr. Wilder is an associate professor in the School of Psychology at the Florida Institute of Technology. He received his Ph.D. is behavior analysis from the University of Nevada at Reno in 1998. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in the Department of Pediatrics and the Department of Behavioral Psychology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine / Kennedy Krieger Institute in Baltimore, MD. Before coming to FL Tech, Dave was an assistant professor of psychology at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, CA for four years and served on the Board of Directors of the California Association for Behavior Analysis.
Dave has research and applied interests in both organizational behavior management (OBM) and clinical behavior analysis. In OBM, Dave's interests include functional assessment techniques and function-based interventions at the organizational level, employee training methods, and performance feedback. In clinical behavior analysis, Dave's interests include stimulus preference assessment techniques and functional assessment and intervention in a variety of populations including children with developmental disabilities, children with attention deficit disorder, and adults with schizophrenia. In addition to these interests, Dave is also interested in instructional technology (e.g., precision teaching, response card procedures).
Dave has served on the editorial boards of the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis (JABA) and the Journal of Organizational Behavior Management (JOBM). He has consulted at the individual and organizational level to businesses, schools, private homes, hospitals, group homes, and day treatment centers. Dave is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
