Services Offered
Families
Parents may have a need for applied behavior analysis for a variety of reasons. For example, many parents of children with autism choose to use ABA programs to teach language, social, and other skills to their children. Florida Tech Behavioral services can even help manage problems with simple routines—such as getting up for school, bathing, eating meals and bedtime that are often extremely difficult for parents to manage alone, as well as more demanding tasks such as cleaning rooms and completing homework.
Autism
Children diagnosed with autism typically experience language, social, and/or behavioral difficulties at home and at school. However
these children can make substantial gains in each of these areas when provided with intensive applied behavior analysis (ABA) services.
Applied Behavior Analysis is an empirically supported intervention strategy for individuals with autism and related disabilities.
Florida Tech Behavioral Services provides comprehensive and individualized early intervention programs to: (1) improve language; (2)
increase social skills and peer interactions; and (3) address behavioral issues, including decreasing inappropriate behaviors and
increasing appropriate behaviors.
ADHD
Children with Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity Disorder often have difficulties in school and at home. A comprehensive behavior program
can help him or her to succeed in both settings.
If your child is using medication, or you're considering medication, Florida Tech Behavioral services can conduct a double-blind
medication trial to help you make objective and data-based decisions about the impact the medication has on your child’s behavior.
Schools
Florida Tech Behavioral Services can help improve school-wide and class-wide behavior management programs, including strategies for
managing disruptive behavior, increasing appropriate social and academic behaviors, staff training, data-tracking systems and program
evaluation.
Behavioral services can also be provided to individual students. These include functional behavioral assessments, behavior intervention
plans, staff training, follow-up monitoring and plan evaluation.
Florida Tech Behavioral Services also offers workshops to schools and school districts.
